DescriptionThe handle is formed into a series of waterleaves descending to tiny volutes. Below this, there is a dog's head in frontal view and, directly beneath, the mask of a young Triton. The Triton has eyes of silver, inlaid. Brownish green patina.

Warren (according to Warren's records: Bought in Paris from a Neapolitan dealer, as he owned it in common with another Neapolitan it will be from South Italy probably.); purchased by MFA from E. P.
