DescriptionThe goat is cast hollow, with one rather large hole in front of the hind legs. The tip of the left horn is missing. Green patina.
ProvenanceBy 1899: with Edward Perry Warren (according to Warren's records: Bought in Rome. Said to have been brought from Milan & to have been found on a bank of the Po near Turin.) [Note, however, that Sieveking in Bronzen . . . Loeb said the piece was found in the Val d'Aosta]; purchased by MFA from Edward Perry. Warren, 1899, for $ 32,500.00 (this is the total price for MFA 99.338-99.542)
