DescriptionHead of a Sothic dog, or spitz-type hound, with ears erect above the face wearing the typical collar with a bell shaped pendant bulla. The face is elongated towards the muzzle which is chipped. Mould-made, possibly with some re-tooling around the eyes, and hollow. Beige-brown.
ProvenanceFrom Naukratis. 1885: excavated by William Matthew Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund, assigned to the EEF by the Egyptian government; October 28, 1885: voted to the MFA at EEF general meeting; sent over February 1886. (Accession date: 1886).
