DescriptionGroup of seated Aphrodite holding a child Eros on her knee, identifying the kourotrophos type. She is seated on a rocky ground, having an himation wrapped around her legs and carried up behind her body to the back of her head and over her left arm. In her left arm, she holds a double curnucorpia, which contains a pyramidal cake, grapes and leaves; she has her hair arranged in flat waves with locks hanging down her neck; she wears a plain crown (stephane). The Eros sitting on her knee is winged and nude. They are placed on a high molded base.
Traces of yellow on stephane of the goddess and on the end of cornucopia; creamy tint on neck and breast of goddess; traces of red on her sandals; brownish cream on the body of Eros.
