DescriptionThis terracotta figurine shows a fox using his left hind leg to scratch his neck. The fox stands on a thin plinth. His body is rendered with minimal details, though the hollows of his ears and his mouth are both sculpted. His long bushy tails extends outwards beyond the plinth.
ProvenanceBy 1905: with E. P. Warren (said to be from Tanagra and to have been bought in 1905); purchased by MFA from E. P. Warren, June 2, 1910, for $4,000.00 (this figure is the total price for MFA 10.159-10.230)
