DescriptionA woman wearing a long chiton kneads bread dough at a kneading trough, holding a possible beater in her right hand; her hair is bound up in a sakkos. A lamp balances on the corner of the kneading trough. One of many figurines depicting genre scenes foun in the graves and sanctuairies of mainland Greece, Sicily, South Italy and Cyprus.
Some added color preserved—black on the dough and lamp, yellow on the kneading trough, red for necklace and arm bracelet on left arm. Handmade, with moldmade head. Said to come from Eretria, possibly Boeotian manufacture.
