DescriptionThe relief is broken on all edges; the back is rough. The surfaces are clean. The goddess is seen in frontal view, wearing her characteristic Thracian cap. Although primarily a Thracian goddess, Bendis received honors in Athens and the Piraeus in the fourth century B.C., when Athens needed allies in northern Greece.
