DescriptionBowl. Thin walls, a low base. On three sides the rim projects slightly to form horizontal handles 4 to 5 cm long. On the fourth side is a spout. The marble is striped, varying from dark to light gray. Broken and put together; two small fragments missing. "as fine as Minoan stone bowls get" Peter Warren via letter from Christine Lilyquist 3/24/1995. Marble quarried on Mochlos. Provenance1908, excavated at the cemetery of Mochlos, Crete, by Richard Berry Seager (b. 1882 - d. 1925), acquired in the division of finds, and shipped to the MFA [see note]. (Accession Date: January 14, 1909)
