DescriptionBottle with globular body and tall, tapering neck, painted in cobalt blue over white slip. Body is painted with scenes derived from Chinese Ming-period ceramics, featuring figures and architecture in a mountainous, stream-fed landscape. Neck, in contrast, depicts two floral bouquets of Persian inspiration. Such graceful bottles were used to hold wine.

Provenance1997, sold by Roland Yazhari, Hong Kong, to the MFA (Accession date: November 19, 1997)

Note: Yazhari obtained the bottle in Europe.
