InscriptionsOn reverse, at top, now largely cut off, a Devanagari inscription with English transcription below: "Baladevaji nacata nayaka modango bajar..."
Cummins translation: "Baladevaji (Krishna) the romantic hero (nayaka) dances with joy... [bajar is musical term]"
Also, in English on reverse: "From Jaipur not Agra, 1914."
ProvenanceGiven to the MFA by Denman Waldo Ross in 1930. Notation on reverse suggests that it was purchased in Jaipur in 1914, possibly by Ananda Coomaraswamy.
