DescriptionInner anthropoid coffin of Princess Henettawy, varnished yellow and painted. The decoration is carved in low relief into a layer of plaster that overlies the wood. The face, hands and hair, which were originally gilded, are missing.
ProvenanceFrom Thebes, Deir el-Bahri, near temple of Hatshepsut (MMA tomb 60). 1924: excavated by the Metropolitan Museum of Art Egyptian Expedition under Herbert E. Winlock; 1952: lent to the Museum of Fine Arts by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; 1954: given to the Museum of Fine Arts by exchange, May 13, 1954.
