DescriptionThis dish is made of pinkish-buff clay with orange slip and black painted decoration and has a low foot. An ornamental border frames the interior of the dish, at the center of which a stylized bird is painted, both painted in black.
ProvenanceFrom Sarras (Shalfak); north-west of Fort (see Diary: March 8, 1931 / Exp.Ph. C 12837 / C 12838). 1931: excavated by the Harvard University–Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; 1947: assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
