DescriptionThis amulet is made of a faded green glazed steatite. It is of a pair statuette of Ptah and Sekhmet standing against the slab, with inscriptions on the back. Two corners of the base are chipped. Ptah is the ancient creator god of Memphis, patron of craftsmen. His consort is the lioness goddess Sekhmet.
ProvenanceFrom Giza, debris east of pyramid G I-b. 1924: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
