DescriptionLarge amulet of a ram-headed lion sitting on column, with red, green, and blue glass inlays in cloisons of gilt silver. Sphinx lacks one horn, and suspension ring.
ProvenanceFrom El-Kurru, Ku 55 (an unnamed queen of King Piankhy). 1919: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan.
