DescriptionBronze hand from a sculpture. It is a hollow caste. The hand is grasping a staff. The surface is corroded. It belongs with 24.896 and head no. 24.957.
Green patina, partly cleaned away. This is the right hand of 24.957. It was extended horizontally and grasped a rectangular object which is hollowed as vertical support for an attribute. Perhaps a thyrsos was joined in two pieces above and below. (Comstock & Vermeule, Greek, Etruscan and Roman Bronze)
