DescriptionThis blue glazed faience represents a deity not often found in Nubian or Egyptian amulets. The god take the form of a standing human figure with two falcons' heads crowned with a disc and uraeus. On the reverse is a vertical column with incised the "ankh" and "neb" signs. There is a suspension ring at the back of each disc.
ProvenanceFrom el-Kurru, Ku 51 (unidentified queen of Piankhy). 1919: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan.
