DescriptionGold cylinder sheath. a) Lower part and base complete, inscribed with a goddess with outspread wings and with inscriptions including the cartouches of Aspelta. Rosette on base. B) Upper part, crushed, showing three registers in relief; top uraeae, center rams and sun discs, below lotus flowers.
ProvenanceFrom Nuri, pyramid 8 (tomb of Aspelta). 1917: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
