DescriptionThis group of twenty objects, all of ivory, includes several inlay pieces and a component of a knife handle. The inlays, some of which are complete with others only fragments, include rectangular, triangular, leaf, and arrow-like shapes, some with holes bored through. The dagger handle has a crescent-shaped end with a peg-hole for blade attachment.
ProvenanceFrom Kerma, K1628. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan.
