DescriptionLid of the outer coffin of Djehutynakht, made of massive cedar boards. Two lines of carefully detailed, painted hieroglyphs contain funerary texts inspired by various spells from the Pyramid Texts that describe goddesses welcoming Djehutynakht to the afterlife, which they promise to make eternal and perfect. These horizontal inscriptions surround vertical columns of incised, cursive heiroglyphs bearing spells from the Coffin Texts.
