DescriptionThis is one of two fitting fragments of a small seated figure. It is preserved from the waist down, including both forearms and hands on the knees. The right hand holds a folded cloth. The figure wears a pleated shendjet kilt. The throne is inscribed on both sides, three horizontal lines of inscription are visible on the proper right side and four on the left side. The foot area of the throne has beveled edges. The legs and throne are much battered. It joins 20.1187b. The stone is black serpentinite with a pure black, shiny, almost slippery surface.
ProvenanceFrom Nubia (Sudan), Kerma, K IV street 7(3). 1913: Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan. It joins 20.1187b.
