DescriptionSpheroid jar with a short, narrow neck; fineware, decorated with three red and black crocodiles and a duck, scroll band of grapes below. The presence of grapes on the vessel may indicate that it was used primarily for the storage of wine.
ProvenanceFrom Kerma, Meroitic cemetery, grave K18/2. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; December 4, 1913:assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan.
