DescriptionThis jar is made of a beautiful piece of veined agate. The base is flat and footed, and the rim is flattened and everted. The lid is disc shaped. Black kohl smudges are on the rim. It is complete and in excellent condition.
ProvenanceFrom Egypt, Sheikh Farag. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
