DescriptionDrawstring bag (shifuku) for tea container (chaire) with design of horizontal bands of animals and flowers in light blue, yellow and white silk and gilt paper strip discontinuous supplementary patterning wefts on a cream silk twill ground (possibly 15th or 16th century, Ming dynasty); tan silk braided cord and yellow and green iridescent plain-weave silk lining.
