DescriptionDrawstring bag (shifuku) for tea container (chaire) with design of vertical bands of interlocking swastika fretwork (manji tsunagi) along the bottom and horizontal bands of a repeating floral motif along the top in light blue, dark blue and gold silk discontinuous supplementary patterning wefts on a white, silk satin ground (possibly 15th or 16th century, Ming dynasty). There is an iridescent blue, plain-weave silk lining and a white silk braided cord.
