DescriptionDrawstring bag (shifuku) for tea container (chaire) with overall design of phoenix and lotus motifs in metallic gilt paper strip discontinuous supplementary patterning wefts on a natural ecru silk ground (possibly 14th century, Yuan dynasty). There is a brown and blue iridescent plain-weave silk lining and a gold braided silk ground. The bottom of the bag is missing.
