DescriptionStatue of Bakhenkhonsu II wearing a leopard skin cloak and carrying a standard topped by a ram head with sun disk, the symbol of Amen. His attire identifies him as a priest of this deity, as does the inscription on the back pillar. The base of this statue was identified in Egypt in 1974.
ProvenanceProbably from Thebes. 1907: purchased for the MFA in Luxor by Joseph Lindon Smith. Contributed to the MFA collection on November 14, 1907.
