DescriptionThe scribe Wesi is dressed in a long kilt that ends above the ankles. His facial features are typical of sculpture made in the reign of Thutmose III. The sides of the seat are inscribed each with five vertical lines of hieroglyphic text. There are traces of white pigment in the eyes; the left elbow is missing.
ProvenanceFrom Thebes, found in tomb pit towards north end of Dra Abu el-Naga. 1909: excavated by William Matthew Flinders Petrie for the the Egyptian Research Account; given to the MFA by the Egyptian Research Account through Rev. William Copley Winslow.
