DescriptionLimestone drum lintel fragment from a false door with a hieroglyphic inscription for the official Menankh-Pepi, here with the short form of his name and with one of his titles: "hereditary prince, Meni." Considerable battering at the two broken ends, obscuring portions of text. The hieroglyphic signs in sunk relief have been rendered with interior detailing.
ProvenanceFrom Dendara, tomb of Meni (Menankh-Pepy). 1898: excavated by William Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund; assigned to the Egypt Exploration Fund in the division of finds by the government of Egypt; presented to the MFA at the general meeting of the EEF.
