DescriptionUpper left corner of a rectangular stele showing a man and wife facing right, she extending one arm to place a hand on his shoulder. Both individuals wear beaded collars and long wigs, hers with a large lappet hanging down over the shoulder. One line of offering formula in inscribed hieroglyphic text above, which reads: "[And offering which the king gives to] Osiris, Lord of Busiris that invocation offerings may go forth for..." Inscribed in from of wife"his wife, his beloved." The preserved portion does not retain the names of the couple.
ProvenanceFrom Dendara. 1898: excavated by William Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund; assigned to the Egypt Exploration Fund in the division of finds by the government of Egypt; presented to the MFA at the general meeting of the EEF.
