DescriptionThin, slightly concave plate that was placed under the head of the mummy. The incised decoration is divided into horizontal registers and filled with white pigment. Around the border is a band of hieroglyphic inscription. The inscriptions record Spell 162 of the Book of the Dead.
ProvenanceFrom Abydos, tomb of Zeder. 1902: excavated by William Matthew Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund, assigned to the Egypt Exploration Fund in the division of finds by the government of Egypt, received by the MFA through subscription to the Egypt Exploration Fund on November 17, 1902.
