Sculpture in Stone and Bronze (MFA), no. 007.
DescriptionThe fragment includes a decorated gutter (sima) and a plain tympanum. The flat sima has widely-spaced lotus buds and palmettes, which are linked by S-shaped scrolls. Above are an ovolo and a fillet. A fillet separates the sima from the timpanum. This fragment joins 61.153.
Said from Selinunte but probably from Lokri.
Except at the breaks the fragment has a yellow patina.
Such small-scale architectural elements probably come from a funerary monument.
