The hexaptych shows two battles that both took place on March 10, 1904, one at Port Arthur (right half) and an earlier one at Mount Laotie (Ch. Laotieshan, J. Rôtetsuzan, left half). Names of the Japanese and Russian ships that participated in each battle are given in the horizontal cartouches. The overall title, in Japanese and English, is at the top of the rightmost sheet. Publication information is in the leftmost margin, cut off of this impression.
