DescriptionInscription in cartouche: The enemy tried with all their power to fend off our advancing 4th Brigade. Our brave, death-defying corps of engineers, with the responsibility for cutting the wire entanglements charged forward. Alternately advancing and lying down on their stomachs, they gradually reached the wire. Crawling to avoid bullets overhead, they carried out their work and finally succeeded in cutting a way in. Their bravery and courage truly merit a special mention in our war chronicle.
