DescriptionWoman's domestic formal robe (pao), probably worn for lantern festival, in slit tapestry in polychrome silk and gold metallic threads on a jade green silk ground with design of waves and mountain across lower edge surrounded by bats, scepters, swords, swastikas and wheels above which are circular medallions with elaborate lanterns, fish, peonies, and bats; sleeves and neck bands woven with peony, bat and lantern designs on black ground; lined with yellow silk damask.
