DescriptionWoman's dress. "Gabrielle Chanel, Paris" label. gray-green silk gorgette dress, chain-stitch embroidery; sleeveless, sheer yoke. Main design of interlacing diamond lattice embroidered in green and gold metallic threads framing crimson and gold rosettes; roundels, rosettes, and scrolls embroidered in blue, green, crimson, and gold metallic threads under yoke and along hem of skirt with areas of plain fabric between. Typical of Chanel's "Russian phase" (1923-25). Written in ink on back of label: "204"
