DescriptionAs noted by Ferndinand Meder, and copied to the mat of this impression: "Unkown German Master of the XVI century, wrongly attributed to Hans Rogel, born 1532. The plate, according to insctiptions on the lower part of the full plate, was engraved by VW ... HM 1540.
This is the upper and principal part of an epitaph, originally in the St. Ulricus Church at Augsburg. In the beginning of the XIX century it got into the possession of a private party, most likely the engraver and art dealer Hertel, who had the impressions struck.
