DescriptionSerrated diamond and cross pattern tapestry woven on deep red cochineal raveled ground in natural ivory, indigo, green, tan (homespun), and light violet wool yarns.
ProvenanceEarly 1870s, acquired in New Mexico by Charles Owen, Connecticut; by descent within the family to his grandson; sold by the grandson of Charles Owen to an anonymous dealer [see note]. July 8, 1988, anonymous sale (auction 1211), Skinner, Bolton, MA, lot 204, to the MFA. (Accession Date: September 28, 1988)
