DescriptionCentral design of a reclining pet lamb brocaded in naturalistic shades of silk chenille thread on white silk satin ground. Motif completed by the rose bush to which the lamb is tied with a ribbon, floral neck garland, and shepherd's bagpipes brocaded in polychrome silk threads. Curved sprays of brocaded pink silk roses extend from the border onto the field. Borders of a meandering branch of white roses in shades of white and green silk thread brocaded on a yellow silk satin ground. ABorders indicate that it was woven to a specific order. Similar panels supplied to Stuttgart Museum; Abegg Stiftung, Bern; Cleveland Museum of Art. Good condition.
