DescriptionPainted paper leaf. Obverse: figures in Imperial court costumes, child on hobby-horse left, man with scroll or fan center, woman with sword (?) over shoulder right; gold background (symbolizing sunlight). Reverse: two cranes in flight; silver background (symbolizing moonlight). Red laquered sticks with indentured guards to give fan partially open appearance; carved cat's eye (Nekomé) design on guards (symbolizes changing time).
