DescriptionPainted paper leaf. Obverse: figures in Imperial Court costumes under tree; gold background (symbolizing sunlight). Reverse: cranes in flight; silver background (symbolizing moonlight). Red laquered sticks with indentured guards to give fan partially open appearance; carved cat's eye (Nekomé) design on guards (symbolizes changing time).
