DescriptionTwo concentric paper leaves painted primarily in black and shades of gray (grisaille); a mourning fan. Obverse: center pastoral scene, two women with parasol, man with pipes, woman gathering hay, flanked by two pastoral landscapes, gray floral and decorative designs between and at outsides (upper leaf); three pastoral landscapes flanked by floral design (lower leaf). Reverse: simple pastoral landscape with raven falling to earth, border top, right (upper leaf); floral motif and border (lower leaf). Carved and pierced ivory sticks with painted gray and black floral design; initials of deceased carved, painted between leaves; woman with box on guards. Diamond paste studs in rivet.
