DescriptionBrisé fan with oil painted and lacquered ivory sticks, painted blue silk connecting ribbon at top edge. Obverse: King Soloman on throne receiving the Queen of Sheba with members of her court. Reverse: figures on shore watching ship. Both scenes surrounded by black borders; chinoiserie vignettes on red field; much gilt detail. Tortoiseshell thumbpieces; mother-of-pearl buttons on rivet.
