DescriptionSingle silk leaf. Obverse: "Treaty of Teschen" (1779). The goddess Minerva with helmet and shield, globe and olive tree (symbols of war and peace) center flanked by Josef II (Austria) left, Frederick the Great (Prussia) right, in medallion suspended by ribbons; outsides: figure who probably represents Prince Henry of Prussia (brother of Frederick the Great), black eagle behind represents Order of the Black Eagle (founded by Frederick the Great in 1701) left; Maria Theresa (mother of Josef II and still his co-regent in 1779) pointing to crown on table right; decorative brass sequin borders; chinoserie details. Reverse: five flowers with blue and gilt decorative borders, narrow gilt band top. Twelve carved, pierced ivory sticks in chinoserie motif, gilt detail, mica backing on guards, diamond paste studs in rivet.
