DescriptionEcclesiastical costume. Cope with ophrey, hood and morse. Stylized tulip on a stalk above a symmetrical leaf spray repeating in dense staggered rows within ogival compartments formed by stylized rosettes and leafy stalks. Yellow and white silk and metallic yarns on a red silk ground; Italy, late 16th century. Orphrey, hood and morse; stylized heavy curling intertwining leaves and stalks with blossom and pomegranate motives. tan silk shot with wires on ground and patterns. Braided interlooping card knot designs join hood and morse to orphrey. Possibly Russia late 17th Century. All badly worn, edging missing from hood.
