DescriptionThe circular bowl is fitted with two handles, each in the form of a branch looped in the center through a ring with a small boss. The domed cover has a broad, slightly stepped flange and is surmounted by a pomegranate finial which is entirely gilded. The circular stand has a central well, gently sloping sides, and two handles, each formed of two arching branches joined by a circular boss. The ground is densely painted with red dots within slightly irregular circles of blue dots. The cover, bowl, and stand are each decorated with a shaped reserve containing four gilt wreaths enclosing roses suspended from a blue bow. The wreaths are linked by garlands of flowers. Gilt bands decorate the flange and rim of the cover, the rims of the bowl and the stand, the footring of the bowl, and the well of the stand, which is also painted with a spray of roses.
