DescriptionRectangular envelope-style flat "souvenir" wallet. White satin, embroidered with polychrome silks and gold metallic threads. Design: front: naturalistic flowers and scrolling gold leaves showing influence from Baroque Europe, under flap inscribed: "Constantinople/1775"; back: unidentified coat of arms showing pink and blue shield bearing striding lion, above shield: plumed helmet surmounted by rampant lion. Embroidery stitches include: satin stitch, long and short stitches, French knot, laid and couched, raised work, darning stitch. Salmon silk lining and side panels, two thin cardboard dividers inside covered in same lining. Metallic galloon binding.
