DescriptionRectangular double pocketbook. White silk plainweave embroidered with polychrome silk. Design: monogram "LC," two flowering cornucopias, two fruit trees in boxes, floral swags and ribbon above (obv.); two musicians at tree flanked by four pairs dancers, floral swags and ribbon above (rev.); pastoral scenes: house in woods, man chopping wood, woman at well, man fishing; gardeners with potted flowers and shed, three women with walking sticks, floral swags above both (interior panels). Embroidery stitches include: stem stitch, satin stitch, french knot, White silk lining, linen plainweave in between layers. Ecru linen-covered cardboard panel in each pocket.
