DescriptionDarning or running stitch sampler. Cream colored cotton ground with short rectangular areas, having geometric and linear motives, intersecting to form crosses. Similar larger central motif with the initials "WS" under a crown and the date. Polychrome silk yarns. Ground stained. Stitches: cross, darning, pattern darning.
