DescriptionWide bed curtain; four lengths and two pieces of fustian (linen and cotton twill) ground with crewelwork embroidery; embroidered mound across base in bands of yellow, blue, and green in New England laid stitch (Roumanian couching) with open areas of green coral pattern in an irregularly spaced asymmetrical cross stitch; set of three triangular trees on left with brown trunks in New England laid stitch (Roumanian couching) and green branches; two larger trees at center right with thin scrolling branches and large leaves and flowers; New England laid stitch (Roumanian couching) used in tree trunks, filling for flowers, leaves, and fruit; herringbone stitch tree branches and smaller leaves; other smaller leaves in satin stitch; outlines of leaves and flowers in chain stitch, filled in with French knots and star and link stitches; many repairs, backed in some places
