DescriptionNatural colored linen warp and weft. Central field shows indistinct pattern of winged figures carrying caduceus-like staffs and flying above the town. Below, groups of sailing ships, borders along sides only; each shows undulating flowering vine. Hemmed at each end. Selvedges complete. Yarns very much worn; linen browned; a number of holes.
ProvenanceBelieved to have belonged to Moses and Frances Barnard (married c. 1796), of Nantucket.
